某君兄弟，是我中学时同学，多年不见了。听说那位弟弟有病，我顺便去望他。在他家门口遇到一个人，自称系病者的长兄。后来，他给了我两册日记，上题《狂人日记》四字，内容荒唐杂乱：

8. 狼是狗的亲眷。赵家的狗看过我几眼，可见也是同谋。我问：“你们全都要吃我，对么？”
8. The wolf is a relative of the dog. The Zhao’s dog has looked at me a few times, so it must be a conspirator. I ask: “You all want to eat me, right?”

9. 自己想吃人，又怕被人吃了，都用疑心的眼光面面相覷。……管他，去了这心思，放心做事走路吃饭睡觉，何等舒服。
9. They themselves want to eat people, yet fear to be eaten by other people, so they look at each other with mistrust and dismay…. What the heck, get rid of this thought, don’t worry, do things, walk, eat, sleep, how comfortable.

10. 我对大哥说：“易牙蒸了他的儿子给桀纣吃，还是一直从前的事，如今吃到徐锡林。你们可以改了！要晓得，将来是容不得吃人的人活在世上的。”

11. At age five, my younger sister was eaten by my brother. My brother said, when parents are ill, their children ought to cut off a piece of their flesh, boil it and offer it to the patients. Only that makes them good people. If one piece can be eaten, then naturally the whole person can be eaten. When I thought of this, I was deeply hurt.

12. 四千年来，时时吃人。我也可能在无意之中吃过我妹子的肉。现在轮到我自己，有了四千年吃人履历的我，现在才明白，真是难见人！
12. For four thousand years, people have always been eating other people. Maybe, unwittingly, I have also eaten my sister’s flesh. Now it is my turn, I, with this four-thousand years of antecedents of eating people, finally understand, how embarrassing!

13. 没有吃过人的孩子，或者还有？救救孩子……
