•  10. 我对大哥说：“易牙蒸了他的儿子给桀纣吃，还是一直从前的事，如今吃到徐锡林。你们可以改了！要晓得，将来是容不得吃人的人活在世上的。”
•  10. I say to my brother: “The tale of Yi Ya steaming his own son for the tyrants Jie and Zhou, that still is a thing of the past, now it is Xu Xilin’s turn to be eaten. You must change your ways! Know this: In the future, people who eat people will not be allowed to live in this world.”

•  11. 五岁的妹子被大哥吃了。大哥说，爷娘生病，做儿女的割下身上一片肉，煮了请病人吃，才算好人。一片吃得，整个人自然吃得。想起来真教人伤心。
•  11. At age five, my younger sister was eaten by my brother. My brother said, when parents are ill, their children ought to cut off a piece of their flesh, boil it and offer it to the patients. Only that makes them good people. If one piece can be eaten, then naturally the whole person can be eaten. When I thought of this, I was deeply hurt.

•  12. 四千年来，时时吃人。我也可能在无意之中吃过我妹子的肉。现在轮到我自己，有了四千年吃人履历的我，现在才明白，真是难见人！
•  12. For four thousand years, people have always been eating other people. Maybe, unwittingly, I have also eaten my sister’s flesh. Now it is my turn, I, with this four-thousand years of antecedents of eating people, finally understand, how embarrassing!

•  13. 没有吃过人的孩子，或者还有？救救孩子……
•  13. Perhaps there are children who haven’t eaten people? Save the children…

 踢鬼  Kicking a Ghost

 根据唐弢（《鲁迅先生的故事》） After “Stories by Master Lu Xun” by Tang Tao

• (1)  鲁迅在家乡教书的时候，晚上要经过一个坟场，走几里路回家。
• (1)  When Lu Xun worked as a teacher in his hometown, in the evenings he passed by a graveyard on his way home.

• (2)  一个月夜，他无意中看见远处的坟地里有一个白影子。
• (2)  One moonlit night, he unwittingly saw a white shadow in the distance among the graves.

• (3)  那个白影子时隐时现，时高时低，时大时小，好象是鬼。
• (3)  One moment this shadow was hidden, one moment it could be seen, sometimes high, sometimes low, sometimes big, sometimes small, a ghost, seemingly.

• (4)  鲁迅学过医，不怕鬼，依旧踏着硬底皮鞋向前走。
• (4)  Lu Xun had studied medicine and did not fear ghosts, so he walked on in his hard-soled leather shoes.

• (5)  鲁迅离鬼的距离越来越近。待白影子在一个坟堆旁缩小的一瞬间，鲁迅使劲向他踢了一脚。
• (5)  Lu Xun got closer and closer to the ghost. He waited for a moment when the ghost had shrunken next to one of the graves and then kicked him forcefully.

• (6)  那个鬼“哎哟”声叫了起来，鲁迅仔细看，原来是个盗墓的。
• (6)  The ghost screamed “ah-yo”. Lu Xun had a good look – actually, the ghost was a tomb raider.
